Calumet County Leader Lab

Linking Organizational Culture and Leadership

IMAGINE: An organization where every supervisor shares a common understanding of what it means to be a leader.

IMAGINE: A company where every leader knows how to create and protect a culture powerful enough to attract, build, motivate, and retain great employees.

IMAGINE: A work setting where every employee reports to an outstanding supervisor.

Fox Cities Chamber’s Leader Lab can turn that imagination into reality!

“Many of us have learned leadership lessons from our life experiences without the benefit of formalized structure, practical application, or highly trained mentors. This leadership program provides wonderful resources, tools, and applications to strengthen, develop, and retain our leaders at businesses and organizations within Calumet County. The Leader Lab program will bolster our talent pipeline, develop stronger teams, challenge emerging leaders, and encourage and motivate people looking for personal growth and deeper opportunities. We are excited to partner with the Fox Cities Chamber to offer this important and crucial program within Calumet County.”

Leadership is a mindset. It’s a way of thinking – a way of viewing the world. The most capable leaders see opportunities that others miss to build culture, strengthen teams, develop employees, and motivate performance.

Leadership also requires a skillset. The most capable leaders have mastered techniques for developing people, instilling pride, setting expectations, holding others accountable, making decisions, and managing conflict.

ANYONE can be a leader, whether it’s at your job, in your community, or even within your family. This course will give you the tools to succeed at any level.

Calumet County Leader Lab is a leadership training resource designed to impact leaders at all levels and across all industries. It is comprised of a combination of seven in-person sessions and a series of short video modules. Videos will be watched in class as well as in between classes then discussed at the in-person sessions.

The program will be facilitated by the esteemed Amy Schanke, Director of Leadership Fox Cities, the Fox Cities’ premier leadership program since 1991.

“I was skeptical at first, especially with the format being ‘watch this video and answer questions’, but the subject matter was genuinely interesting, informative and succinct enough that it didn't feel like a chore to watch. The labs were all very well run, and I think 90 minutes was the perfect amount of time...long enough that they could be substantive but short enough to not take up a ton of work time. I'm really glad I participated and would recommend the Leader Lab to anyone.”
