Volunteer Opportunities

Your Chamber has several opportunities to volunteer! 

Leadership Fox Cities Steering Committee

Steering committee works with Chamber staff to recruit candidates, design stellar agendas, invite guests to present, and obtain needed sponsorships for this professional development/community leadership program. The program is nine months long, with committee meetings monthly.  Contact Amy Schanke or 920-734-7101 for more information. (NOTE: Committee members must be past participants of the Fox Cities Chamber Leadership Fox Cities program.)

Leadership Fox Cities Alumni Association Committee

This committee’s mission is to actively support positive change through leadership development by providing resources to individuals and organizations in the Fox Cities. The Alumni Association offers networking and leadership opportunities with LFC alumni, Board and Committee members. Contact Amy Schanke or 920-734-7101 for more information. (NOTE: Committee members must be past participants of the Fox Cities Chamber Leadership Fox Cities program.)

Ambassadors

The Ambassadors are a dedicated group of business volunteers who serve as the public relations arm for the Chamber. They attend Chamber events, ribbon cuttings, member events and contact members on a regular basis. They advocate for the Chamber and provide an exceptional member experience for the Chamber’s members. The ambassador team meets monthly. Contact Eric Broten or 920-734-7101 for more information.

Public Policy Council

The Public Policy Council is a group of volunteers dedicated to improving Public Policy in the Fox Cities Region.  They attend monthly meetings and will engage their federal, state, and local elected officials on a range of issues important to business leaders.  Contact the Chamber at 920-734-7101 or email Jon Turke to learn more.

Employee Friendly Workplace Advisory Board

This is a great opportunity for business and HR professionals to help define the certification parameters of the Chamber’s innovative Employee Friendly Workplace (EFW) Initiative. The Fox Cities Employee Friendly Workplace is an initiative focused on enhancing work/life integration for all employees by encouraging the adoption of more employee friendly workplace practices and policies. It’s a collaborative effort between businesses and community organizations, led by the Fox Cities Chamber of Commerce, for the primary purpose of creating a supportive work environment and attracting and retaining top talent in the region. Appleton's Octoberfest Committee

We are seeking community-focused individuals to join the Octoberfest Committee! Serving on the Appleton’s Octoberfest Committee is an extraordinary opportunity for individuals who are passionate about strengthening the community. The committee comprises individuals who provide leadership-level support for volunteers, marketing/website/social media, trash and recycling, entertainment, Family Fun Area, and nonprofit food vendors. The committee meets on the first Wednesday of each month from 7:30-9 a.m. Contact the Chamber at 920-734-7101 or email Aimee Herrick to learn more.

Appleton’s Octoberfest, an event of the Fox Cities Chamber of Commerce, is a community-driven event. Each nonprofit booth that sells food at the event uses the profits to support their community projects. The event is planned by a volunteer committee and overseen by chamber staff. Octoberfest utilizes 800+ volunteers the day of the event. Contact the Chamber at 920-734-7101 or click here to learn more.

Future Fox Cities Career Expo Event Volunteers

A large number of community volunteers are needed to help make this annual youth event happen. Positions include bus chaperones, registration area volunteers, escalator monitors, landing zone monitors, vendor assistance and lunch delivery, media assistance, and more. Pulse Young Professionals Network

This group of talented young professionals work to maintain and elevate the mission alignment of Pulse’s various initiatives, programs and events throughout the year.  Responsibilities are varying and cyclical, but often include event planning, membership retention and attraction, community outreach, the identification of influential local speakers, artists and musicians, program recommendations, ideation sessions and volunteer recruitment.
