United Way Fox Cities has been certified as a 2022 Silver-level Employee Friendly Workplace by the Fox Cities Chamber of Commerce. This certification recognizes employers who demonstrate a significant commitment to promoting work/life integration by creating a positive work environment and experience for all employees.
Silver certified employers demonstrate a significant commitment to offering and expanding benefits and policies that support the work/life needs of employees. At the United Way, this includes a 37.5 hour work week, with no-meetings on Friday, paid family leave, flexibility to work when and where needed, and benefits that support what employees need.
The mission of the Fox Cities Employee Friendly Workplace Initiative is to encourage the adoption of more employee friendly workplace practices and policies in order to enhance work/life balance and successfully attract and retain the best employees to the region.
“Our United Way team invests themselves in their work every day, impacting the health, education, and financial stability of everyone in the Fox Cities,” said Peter Gianopoulos, President and CEO of United Way Fox Cities, “and taking care of our team is paramount. If we care for ourselves and each other, we can better care for our community, ensuring that it is stronger and more caring for everyone. We are honored to receive this recognition as an Employee Friendly Workplace!”
United Way Fox Cities is the 13th Fox Cities company to be certified as being employee friendly. Eric Broten, Director of Economic Development at the Chamber, explained how the certification works: “We rate employers in four major categories: Paid Leave and Flexible Work Schedules, Health and Wellness Support, Financial Support and Perks. Employers are then given a score and if qualified, rank as Bronze, Silver, Gold or Platinum. We are thrilled to add United Way Fox Cities to this prestigious list and add them as our newest Employee Friendly Workplace certified employer!”
Overall, the Chamber’s Employee Friendly Workplace certification encourages policies and practices that foster a supportive work environment to improve employee engagement and encourage employee loyalty. A commitment to employee friendliness creates an environment in the Fox Cities that attracts and retains the best employees for the region.
Certification is open to all employers with operations located in the Fox Cites (Calumet, Outagamie and northern Winnebago Counties). The comprehensive benefit criteria incorporated into the application is intended to be attainable as well as aspirational for employers of any size across all industry sectors.
