St. John Nepomucene in Little Chute Moves Forward with Parish Center Addition

Concept Image Entry St John Nepomucene Following a 2022 feasibility study, related planning effort, and initial design, St. John Nepomucene Catholic Community in Little Chute is proceeding with the final design and construction of a new Parish Center addition. Hoffman Planning, Design & Construction, Inc. has been hired to provide full design and construction management services after assisting with the feasibility study, planning, and initial design.

The project will include the removal of the current office complex, built in 1959, and the construction of a new 21,400 square foot space to house the Parish Center staff, including clergy members and financial and faith development staff. It will also provide additional space needed for faith development and rentable space for gatherings, as well as improve outreach to the community.

“After an assessment of the existing building revealed that it wouldn’t make financial sense for the Parish to remodel, they chose instead to move forward with the development of a new space,” explained Kurt Peeters, parish member and Hoffman project lead and senior project architect. “The new Parish Center will connect to the existing building on two levels and will serve as the main mechanical hub for the adjacent, existing buildings, including the church.”

Construction of the current church building took place between 1860 and 1868.

“I, along with the rest of the parish staff, am honored to be part of a building project which will move St. John Nepomucene into its third century,” said Father Ron Belitz, St. John pastor. “I pray our efforts may continue the work of God in our parish and the Village of Little Chute for a long time.”

“Hoffman is proud to be collaborating with St. John Nepomucene on this important project for the parish and we’re eager to start development of this new space,” said Peeters. “And as a long-standing parish member, I’m honored to serve St. John’s in this capacity and am excited for what’s to come for the parish community.”
