In Winnebago County, more than 1 in 3 families lives at or just above the federal poverty level (FPL). That’s why the Oshkosh Area Community Pantry (OACP) has made the elimination of food insecurity its mission.
Located at 2551 Jackson Street in Oshkosh, OACP has seen a 103% increase in new registrations and a 45% increase in guest visits in 2023. In the first half of the year, OACP has welcomed 739 new families and continues to serve more and more families each day.

“Being able to save money on groceries and coming to the pantry has been so extremely helpful for me and my family; not only financially but also mentally and emotionally. It’s such a HUGE relief when I am able to get ground beef and chicken, fresh fruits and veggies, items that will last in my freezer, occasional goodies for my kids, and sometimes hygiene products or pet food that can save me a nice chunk of money for the month. It truly helps to lift a constant weight I carry on my shoulders.” shared one OACP guest.
OACP welcomes guests of all ages and walks of life to their open choice guest shopping experience. Whether it’s to participate in their diabetic staple box program, or their Kid’s Corner shopping area, all are welcome at OACP. “We want our guests to feel welcomed with dignity and respect each time they walk through our doors,” shared Executive Director Ryan Rasmussen. The work OACP does is only possible with the help of their generous donors and volunteers. “Now more than ever, we need your support to allow us to continue our mission of striving to eliminate food insecurity,” says Rasmussen.
