Aaron Jones will support Scouting as 22 local Boy Scouts are awarded Heroism Award on October 18 at Lambeau Field Atrium for their courageous action during train derailment.

Aaron Jones, Green Bay Packers running back, will be speaking at the Bay-Lakes Council, Boy Scouts of America’s – 5th Annual Golden Eagle Event on Tuesday, October 18th in the Lambeau Field Atrium at 5:30 p.m.

Jones led the NFL in yards per carry in his 2nd year in the league. Jones was drafted by the Packers in the 5th round of the 2017 draft and was selected to be in the 2021 Pro Bowl. Nominated for the 2021 Walter Payton Man of the Year award for his dedication to community efforts.

The program will include the heroic story of 22 Scouts from Appleton, WI Troop 12 & 73. While on a cross-country train trip returning from Philmont Scout Ranch in New Mexico this June, their train crashed and derailed outside of Mendon, Missouri, leaving 4 dead and hundreds wounded. In the chaos and calamity, these boys exemplified the Scout’ motto of “Be Prepared” as they assisted the wounded and helped first responders rescue people from the train wreckage.

The funds raised will be used to support local boys and girls in Scouts. Your investment in the mission of Scouting will ensure that ANY young person wishing to take part in the program will be able to experience the fun and invaluable life opportunities that being a Scout provides! The Bay Lakes Council serves 36 counties in Northeast Wisconsin and Upper Michigan serving over 11,000 girls and boys in Scouting.

Join us for a fun and inspiring event as we come together to support our youth and future leaders!
