Ribbon Cutting Program

The Fox Cities Chamber is proud to celebrate your business!

Are you observing a business milestone, such as an anniversary, grand opening, or ground breaking? Let us represent you in the community with a ribbon cutting! Ribbon cuttings are terrific for growth, visibility, and credibility; gaining exposure for your brand and attracting people to your location.

Fox Cities Chamber members at the Connect level and above get one FREE ribbon cutting per year (there is a fee for Connect Free members).

When requesting your ribbon cutting:

  • Please submit your request AT LEAST TWO WEEKS PRIOR to your preferred event date, and allow 48-72 hours for confirmation from the Chamber.
  • We recommend scheduling your event on a Tuesday through Thursday between 8 AM and 5 PM for best attendance.
  • Please note that the Chamber does not hold ribbon cuttings outside of our normal office hours (Mon.-Thur. 8 AM – 5 PM, Fri. 8 AM – 3 PM) or from 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM on Thursdays.

What we'll do

For all ribbon cutting ceremonies, the Fox Cities Chamber will do the following:

  • Bring the official ribbon and “big” scissors.
  • Say a few words to welcome attendees and recognize your event/business.
  • Conduct the ribbon cutting ceremony.
  • Take pictures and post on our Flickr album; giving you free access to the photos.
  • Invite our ambassadors and other chamber members, if the event is public.
  • Invite local municipality staff to the event.
  • List your event on the Chamber calendar on our web site.
  • Post on social media and in our weekly e-newsletter.

What you can do

To help make the ceremony as successful as possible, consider the following:

  • The more, the merrier! Invite clients, vendors, staff, board members, neighboring businesses, family, and friends.
  • Send out mailed invitations at last two weeks in advance and follow-up with an email reminder the week of the ceremony.
  • Offer refreshments.
  • Conduct your own PR campaign.
  • Offer samples of your product or service.
  • Give guests a brief tour of your business and explain its function.
  • Play music!
  • Hold a drawing for door prizes or other giveaways.
  • Add festive décor such as balloons, banners, etc.
