One of the most important elements of any Leadership Exchange isn’t the destination — it’s the people making the journey.
As we prepare for our upcoming Leadership Exchange to Charleston, SC, one thing stands out immediately: this is not a single-organization trip. It is a cross-section of leaders who collectively help shape the future of the Fox Cities.
Our attendees represent business, nonprofits, local government, workforce development, and community leadership. Some lead major employers. Others guide nonprofits serving critical community needs. Some are emerging leaders stepping into larger roles, while others bring decades of experience and perspective.
This mix is intentional.

Strong communities are not built by one sector working alone. Economic growth, talent attraction, quality of life, and regional competitiveness all happen at the intersection of industries and ideas. When leaders from different backgrounds learn together, they begin to see shared challenges AND opportunities more clearly.
The Leadership Exchange is designed to create exactly that environment.
During our time in Charleston, participants won’t just hear presentations or tour projects. They will examine how another region approaches issues familiar to us: workforce development, downtown vitality, tourism, talent retention, entrepreneurship, and community collaboration. Just as importantly, they will learn alongside one another, building relationships that continue long after the trip ends.
That may be the most valuable outcome of all.
When leaders travel together, conversations deepen. Silos begin to fade. New partnerships form. Ideas move faster because trust already exists.
For the Fox Cities, this matters.

Our region’s future depends on leaders who think beyond organizational boundaries and toward shared regional success. The individuals participating in this exchange are not just attendees; they are catalysts. Our goal is to return inspired and aligned.
Aligned around opportunities we see.
Aligned around challenges we share.
And aligned around actions that will help the Fox Cities continue to grow, compete, and thrive.
