J&R Aquatic Animal Rescue (JRAAR) is hosting an Exotic Pet Surrender Event on April 5th from 10 AM to 1 PM at the Kimberly Public Library (515 W Kimberly Ave, Kimberly, WI 54136). This event provides a safe, judgment-free opportunity for individuals to surrender exotic pets they can no longer care for—no questions asked.
Local organizations will be on-site to accept fish, invertebrates, reptiles, pet birds, small mammals, and plants. Attendees will also have the chance to meet animal ambassadors, learn about responsible pet ownership, and take photos with rescued animals at a special photo booth.
Many exotic pet owners struggle to find responsible rehoming options, leading some to consider releasing animals into the wild—a decision that can have devastating consequences for both the animal and the environment. This event offers a humane and ethical alternative.
Event Partners & Supporters
This event is made possible through the support of Fox Wolf Watershed Alliance, Winnebago Waterways, and the University of Wisconsin Sea Grant/Water Resources Institutes. Generous funding from Petco Love and the Petfinder Foundation helps ensure we can continue providing these crucial services.
