The Celebrate Menasha Sesquicentennial Weekend has been rescheduled to Friday, October 11th, and Saturday, October 12th. Mark your calendars and make sure to join us on Main Street for a party that’s been 150 years in the making.
Celebrate Menasha will feature great food, family fun, live music and the Fox Valley’s first-ever drone show. While heavy rains led to a postponement in June, the downtown festivities will now complement Menasha High School’s Homecoming events. We anticipate a monumental weekend and hope that everyone can help us celebrate this major milestone in our city’s history.
Friday’s street party kicks off at 5 p.m. with free live music on the Community First Credit Union Main Stage leading up to our headlining act, “Hot Rod Huey & the B-sides: the Music of Huey Lewis.” On Saturday, the celebration continues with another evening of great free music on the Community First Credit Union Main Stage beginning at 5 p.m.
On both nights, turn your eyes upward when the skies turn dark for our dazzling drone shows, presented by Menasha Corporation. The displays will feature more than 150 lighted drones in a brilliantly choreographed aerial exhibition.
Our Kids Zone, presented by Faith Technologies Inc., will include performers from Mischief & Magic who will entertain passersby. Youngsters will find a variety of fun activities including face painting, henna tattoos and balloon animals. Families can also enjoy carnival rides and midway games at a nominal cost. The Kids Zone opens at 5 p.m. on Friday and 3 p.m. on Saturday.
Make sure to bring your appetite. The Gold Cross Ambulance Service Food Court will host a number of popular local food trucks offering a wide variety of delicious fare. Menasha was incorporated as a city on March 5, 1874, and has a rich history stretching from its early national significance as an industrial hub to its modern-day trails and waterfront amenities that make Menasha – Your Place on the Water.
