New episode of Plug in to Health focuses on breast cancer:

How to take action, and the best ways to support someone impacted by it

SalmSchmid Colette CroppedPrevea Health is pleased to announce a new episode of its podcast, Plug in to Health, as part of October’s Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

The episode, “Breast Cancer: Don’t just be ‘aware.’ Take action!”, features Dr. Colette Salm-Schmid, Prevea breast surgeon and champion for breast cancer prevention, detection and treatment. Dr. Salm-Schmid outlines the important steps women can take, including getting a mammogram, in helping to prevent this disease which is expected to impact nearly 300,000 women in the U.S. this year alone.

As someone on the front lines of breast cancer every day, Dr. Salm-Schmid is also very knowledgeable about some of the best ways we can all support a loved one that has been diagnosed with breast cancer. “One of the most important things we can do – and something that is often overlooked — is to first process our own feelings about the news that a loved one has been diagnosed with breast cancer,” Dr. Salm-Schmid explains in the new episode.

“Breast Cancer: Don’t just be ‘aware.’ Take action!” is available now on Plug in to Health, which can be accessed at no cost on all major podcasting platforms including Apple and Spotify. It is also available at: www.prevea.com/podcast
