JOIN THE EFFORT FOR HAIR EQUITY DURING THE BLACK HISTORY & AFRO HAIR FAIR

Second annual event hosted by People of Progression

In the spirit of Black History Month, People of Progression invites you to attend the second annual Black History & Afro Hair Fair on Saturday, February 24.

The day is dedicated to strengthening education for local salons, cosmetology schools, parents and guardians of black children, group homes, transitional living shelters, and anyone invested in healthy black hair care.

The event will take place from noon to 4 p.m. at Fox Valley Technical College. Attendees will learn about the historical background of black hairstyles, participate in hair care education workshops, and hear from textured haircare experts about their experiences and knowledge. The keynote speaker joining us in person from Illinois – Tamekia Swint, published children’s author, natural hair stylist, hair educator, podcast host, and non-profit founder of Styles 4 Kidz, will conclude the event.

Registration is required. Tickets are $10 each or $50 for businesses or non-profits who wish to register as vendors or host a booth. Registration details can be found here.
