Casa Hispana Inc. hosts Latino Fest at Jones Park in Appleton

Multicultural Coalition, Inc. offers COVID-19 vaccinations at Hispanic festival

Casa Hispana Inc., a non-profit organization dedicated to the Hispanic/Latino community in the Fox Valley, is hosting its sixth annual Appleton Latino Fest, an event to celebrate Latino culture, on Saturday, Sept. 10 from 11 a.m. – 7 p.m. at Jones Park in Appleton, located at 301 W. Lawrence Street (map).

Latino Fest is a fundraiser for Casa Hispana Inc.’s scholarship program that helps traditional and nontraditional students achieve their educational goals. In total, more than 275 scholarships have been awarded to students, totaling more than $250,000. The family-friendly event features:
• Live music
• Cultural expressions representing the diversity in Latino/Hispanic heritage
• Zumba
• Food
• Information from nonprofit organizations, corporations and employers
• Booths from different Fox Valley area education institutions

In addition to the regular schedule of activities at Latino Fest, Multicultural Coalition, Inc. will be on-site offering COVID-19 vaccines from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. to anyone interested in receiving a vaccine. Pfizer vaccines will be available to anyone 6-months or older. All those under 18-years-old must be accompanied by a parent or guardian to receive a vaccine. Walk-ins are welcome, and ID and health insurance are not required to receive a vaccine.

The COVID-19 vaccinations offered at Latino Fest are made possible by several community partners, including: Multicultural Coalition, Inc., Red Shoes, Inc., Casa Hispana Inc., Partnership Community Health Center, Ascension, Pointters Community Initiatives, United Way Fox Cities, CAP Services and RISE.
