License to Cruise Event Hours Extended in 2023

Appleton’s Octoberfest Committee and the Fox Cities Chamber have announced that the hours for this year’s License to Cruise have been extended. The event will begin three hours earlier than in past years and run from 3 – 9:30 PM on Friday, Sept. 29.

Each year, License to Cruise, a classic car show, is the highly anticipated kick off to Appleton’s Octoberfest weekend. “We’ve received a lot of requests over the years to extend the hours of License to Cruise, and we’re excited to be able to make that happen this year,” says Gary Rohde, License to Cruise coordinator on the Octoberfest Committee. “The people at this year’s event will have even more time to enjoy and explore the amazing vehicles and entertainment we’re bringing in.”

This year, License to Cruise expects to draw over 100,000 people to College Avenue and the Fox Cities Exhibition Center for a family-friendly event filled with classic cars, live music, and great food. About 400 classic cars will be showcased at the event. All cars manufactured in 2003 or earlier are welcome to park on College Avenue with a registration fee of $5. Additionally, there will be special interest vehicles featured in the Fox Cities Exhibition Center.

The festivities continue the next day on Saturday, Sept. 30 at Appleton’s Octoberfest from 9 AM – 6 PM on College Avenue. About 800 volunteers are needed for Saturday. Registration is available at octoberfestonline.org/volunteer.

Key sponsorship opportunities are still available. Email [email protected] for details.
