Champion Spotlight: RGL Logistics

What motivated you to become a Champion of Young Professionals?

We understand that young professionals are the future and bring invaluable, fresh perspectives to the workplace. Our company is always seeking out new and innovative ways we can connect with young professionals and give them the opportunity to learn more about the various career paths available to them.

What is something that your company does to support/draw in young talent?

Each year, we host a group of students from Little Chute High School at our facility to give them a real look inside the logistics industry. Many students do not realize the variety of careers that exist within one operation.

During their time with us, we intentionally build hands-on experiences that help them understand the different skill sets needed to run a successful business. They hear from our team members, ask questions, and see how each role contributes to the bigger picture.

Beyond facility visits, we support job shadows, participate in mock interviews, and look for practical ways to prepare students for the workforce. We want them to leave more confident, more informed, and more aware of the opportunities available in their own community.

For us, supporting young talent is not about recruitment alone. It is about investing early, building awareness, and helping the next generation see a path forward.

What do young professionals bring to an organization?

Young professionals bring adaptability and a strong desire to grow.

They enter the workforce expecting clarity, feedback, and purpose. That expectation pushes organizations to be clearer in communication, stronger in leadership, and more intentional about culture.

In an industry like logistics, where change is constant with evolving technology, rising customer expectations, and ongoing supply chain disruption, young professionals are often the quickest to adapt. They are comfortable with data, new systems, and continuous improvement. They do not resist change. They expect it.

They also raise the standard internally. They want development. They want accountability. They want to understand how their role connects to the bigger picture. That mindset strengthens teams and builds future leaders.

At RGL, our focus is fulfilled people paying it forward to family, teammates, customers, and the community. Young professionals challenge us to live that daily.

What company goals will your YPs help you to achieve?

RGL has been in business for 120 years, and we fully intend to be here for much longer.

Longevity like that does not happen by standing still.

Our young professionals play a critical role in that evolution.

They help us stay open-minded when approaching new challenges. They are often the first to embrace new systems, new tools, and new ways of thinking. Their comfort with change supports our commitment to continuous improvement and innovation in how logistics is done.

They also strengthen our leadership pipeline. If we want to sustain another 120 years of growth, we have to intentionally develop the next generation of leaders who understand our values, our customers, and our operational standards. Investing in young professionals ensures that our culture and expectations carry forward.

How will you continue to support young professionals into the future?

We will continue building on what has worked while staying open to new ways to improve.

For years, we have invested in exposure, mentorship, and workforce development, both internally and in our community. That will not change.

Internally, every teammate has a growth and development plan. We support continuous learning, encourage ongoing skill development, and create clear pathways for advancement. Young professionals want to know where they are headed and what it takes to get there.

Externally, we will continue strengthening partnerships with local schools and community organizations while looking for new opportunities to engage earlier and more meaningfully. Workforce development is not a short-term initiative. It is a long-term commitment.

As our industry changes, the way we develop talent must also change. We will continue listening, adapting, and creating opportunities that prepare young professionals for leadership and long-term success.
