Bivalent booster vaccine offers enhanced COVID-19 protection ahead of cold and flu season
On Tuesday, Nov. 1 from 3 – 6 p.m., Multicultural Coalition, Inc. (MCI) will hold a free COVID-19 Bivalent booster vaccination event during the Día de los Muertos celebration at St. Vincent de Paul in Appleton, located at 1924 W. College Ave. (map).
“Día de los Muertos is a day to celebrate those family and friends who have passed on,” explained Patricia Sarvela, chief development officer at Partnership Community Health Center and board member for MCI. “We also believe it is the perfect time to celebrate the health of the living and help our community get vaccinated against the latest strains of COVID-19 ahead of the winter season.”
The Día de los Muertos celebration will feature:
- Snacks
- Community Resources
- Candy
- Free COVID-19 vaccinations
- Teddy bears and books for children
- Diapers and household supplies
MCI’s clinic will feature the Pfizer Bivalent COVID-19 booster shots for anyone looking to get protected. The vaccination clinic is free and open to walk-ins. No pre-registration, identification or health insurance is required to receive a vaccination. Bivalent booster vaccines are available for those 12-years-old and up who have completed their primary vaccination series.
