Translated information, interpreters and proximity to public transportation enhance community-wide event for families
Multicultural Coalition, Inc. (MCI) and Pillars will host their second annual health and resource event on Tuesday, September 10 from 3 to 6 p.m. Members of the community are invited to the gymnasium of St. Matthew Lutheran Church (map) in Appleton, where the Pillars Resource Center is housed. Participants should use the Lawrence Street entrance.
Approximately 40 community groups will be onsite to share about their resources at this family friendly event. Community members can learn about the renewal and enrollment process for Medicaid, FoodShare and BadgerCare programs, education programs available to all ages, how to access basic needs such as food and clothing, vaccination information and support options for abuse victims and the unhoused. There will also be culturally-based organizations, medical, dental and vision organizations and multiple mental health groups and human resource groups.
“Now more than ever, it’s important to bring resources together in one place that is safe and welcoming. We encourage families to stop by and find out more about the resources our community has to offer. Everyone deserves to have access to the resources they need to be healthy,” said Lisa Cruz, executive director of MCI.
This community event, which is free and open to the public, will feature:
