Since the City of Kaukauna announced it was hosting its first annual music festival August 9-10 in Hydro Park, community members from the city and surrounding areas have extended a helping hand.

Several area businesses have sponsored the festival including Abel Insurance, Kaukauna Utilities, StoneRidge Piggly Wiggly, Heart of the Valley Chamber, and Edward Jones. Additional support has been provided by Kyle Megna of 313 Dodge for the use of the upstairs patio for the VIP lounge, and for coordinating the musicians, tech, and staging.

“It’s incredible to see the support and outreach from local businesses, community members, and organizations,” Terri Vosters, community enrichment & recreation director, said. “We’re so grateful to everyone involved!”

Members of the community who volunteer to work the music festival will earn $12/hour toward a local nonprofit organization of their choosing. As of last week, nearly 75 people have signed up to volunteer, benefitting a wide variety of nonprofit organizations.

“We announced the music festival toward the end of June and people have been nothing but supportive,” Mayor Tony Penterman said. “Whether people are sponsoring, volunteering, or even just coming out to enjoy the festival, we’re happy to see our community coming together.”

The music festival is scheduled from 4:00 PM – 10:30 PM Friday, August 9 and from 1:00 PM – 10:00 PM Saturday, August 10 in Hydro Park, located at 100 Crooks Ave. in Kaukauna. In addition to live music, the event will feature food and drink options, bounce houses on Saturday and a variety of activities. Live music will begin one hour after open.

Additional volunteer and sponsorship opportunities are still available. Visit the city’s website at kaukauna.gov/kaukauna-music-festival/ to learn more about the event and how to get involved. Follow on Facebook @Kaukauna Music Festival to stay up to date
