Founded 110 years ago by a group of Wisconsin jewelers to meet the unique insurance needs of the jewelry industry, today Jewelers Mutual offers products and services to meet the evolving needs of jewelry retail, wholesale, supplier and consumer markets. Headquartered in Neenah, with offices in Dallas, Miami, Cincinnati, and remote employees across the country, Jewelers Mutual is exceptionally positioned to be the center stone of a thriving jewelry industry and the most trusted advisor to all customers it serves.

United by dedication, innovation and heart, Jewelers Mutual employees are encouraged to make their mark on the company while practicing its core values of agility, accountability and relevancy. As the company continues to aggressively transform from a traditional insurer into a technology-forward company, its teams embrace a start-up mentality when recommending solutions and bringing them to market.

IMG 2112“We’re incredibly proud of how our culture has organically evolved over the years,” said Angela Creel, Chief Human Resources Officer at Jewelers Mutual Group. “This has brought record financial results and continued portfolio expansion. Our young professionals are central to this growth. Onboarding new team members with the right mindset—a balance of undying curiosity and urgency—has helped us redefine how we work across our offices and deliver on behalf of our customers.”

Jewelers Mutual continues to find the balance of employee wants and company needs and is investing in more onsite amenities like breakfast and lunch at its 24 Carat Café, financial planning and retirement courses, as well as monthly volunteer opportunities that encourage employees to use their twelve annual volunteer time off hours. Based on employee feedback, the team debuted Wellbeing Wednesdays (weekly onsite yoga), monthly Breakfast with Executives, and monthly Lunch and Learns across departments. An employee-powered culture committee collects and optimizes engagement opportunities monthly to ensure the employee experience remains strong.

New internship and rotational programs have aided Jewelers Mutual in positioning itself as an employer of choice with soon-to-be graduates. Consistent growth has led to new roles that have driven career mobility, both laterally and upwardly.

IMG 2106Jewelers Mutual recognizes that a flexible work arrangement continues to be an important benefit for employees to allow them to achieve a more successful balance between work responsibilities and family life. The team also recognizes the value that comes from working together in-person and the natural good that comes from it. As such, the company follows a hybrid work schedule encouraging employees to be onsite at least 60% of their work week and for critical collaboration. Employees can customize their week based on their needs while feeling inspired to bring their best selves to work each day for meaningful interactions.

“The workplace is constantly evolving and so are the needs of its emerging workforce. Jewelers Mutual supports my growth and development, providing me with opportunities to learn new skills and take on new challenges. It’s refreshing to work for a company that invests in its employees,” said Trent Tetzlaff, Marketing Automation Specialist and young professional at Jewelers Mutual. “From incredible benefits, short-term incentives and 401(k) match and contributions, I feel well cared for and appreciated.”Any Fox Cities company can apply to be classified as a PULSE Champion of Young Professionals and pledge to provide support and a positive work environment for YPs within their company.

“Without our area young professionals and those that support them, the ability for the Fox Cities to grow and thrive would be limited,” said Jodie Federwitz, Director, Fox Cities Chamber PULSE Young Professionals Network. “PULSE and the Fox Cities Chamber are excited to shine a light on area businesses that generate a supportive and positive work environment for our YPs. Jewelers Mutual is a gem in the Fox Cities that leads by example and invests in their YPs to strengthen not only their business but the career potential of those who join them.”
