Now caring for patients at Green Bay’s only children’s hospital
HSHS St. Vincent Children’s Hospital and Prevea Health are pleased to welcome Dr. Youssef Ahmed, a board-certified and fellowship-trained pediatric intensivist now caring for children in Green Bay.
Dr. Ahmed specializes in comprehensive pediatric intensive care at HSHS St. Vincent Children’s Hospital, offering key services including pediatric critical care; inpatient hospital medicine; intensive care unit (ICU) medical and surgical care for children; monitored anesthesia care; pediatric vascular access; ultrasound guided line placement in children; pediatric respiratory disease care and palliative medicine and end of life care.
“Having a child admitted to the hospital or the intensive care unit is very stressful and unimaginable for a lot of people, especially for children,” says Dr. Ahmed. “It is important to recognize how stressful a serious illness is for kids and their loved ones, and to support families as much as possible during their child’s stay. It is an honor to help families and their children through those difficult times.”
Dr. Ahmed earned his medical degree from the Faculty of Medicine Cairo University, Egypt, and completed residency in pediatrics at SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University, N.Y. He completed a fellowship in pediatric critical care at the University of California, San Francisco, and is certified by the American Board of Pediatrics.
