Future Neenah will host a pop-up art show with Ben Erickson on September 17 and 18 from 6-8pm at the Ballroom at The Reserve (116 S. Commercial Street, 3rd Floor). The FREE show is titled Chasing Stars: Faces in Art and will feature over 40 of Ben’s favorite paintings in his FIRST art show.
Ben is a Neenah native and Neenah High School alumni. His growing portrait collection of famous people painted over the past twelve years has taken him on a fun art journey. He’s painted over 150 portraits with some of them having mix-media elements incorporated into the piece such as bottle caps, rhinestones, glitter, soda/beer labels and candy wrappers. Ben has been fortunate to have his paintings signed by Hall of Fame athletes, future Hall of Famers, Olympic athletes, respected coaches and world-famous comedians. He is constantly thinking of who his next portrait will be and how he can get them to sign their painting. Each and every painting comes with its own unique story whether it was the painting process itself or how he came to the final result or the chase/encounter to obtain an autograph. The chase/encounter in some cases is as interesting and colorful as the portrait itself.
Art is his passion and he’s always working on one or more portraits at a time. Here are some of the notable people he has painted: Aaron Rodgers, Brett Favre, Simone Biles, Jerry Seinfeld, Shane Gillis, Odell Beckham, Drew Brees, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Steph Curry, Clayton Kershaw, Aaron Judge, Charles Barkley, Barry Bonds, John Daly, Dwyane Wade, Jordan Love, Christian Yelich, Ryan Braun, Giannis Antetokounmpo, Post Malone and Luke Combs.
We invite you to come see over 40 of Ben’s favorites paintings at this pop-up art show at The Ballroom at The Reserve. This is his FIRST art show so you will not want to miss it! Ben will be there to answer questions and talk about his journey as well. There will be a cash bar and live music on Tuesday, September 17 by Mary McCurdy.
