J&R Aquatic Animal Rescue, Wisconsin’s largest exotic pet rescue, is proud to announce the completion of a new shelving system in its reptile section, designed and built by Ben Rhode as part of his Eagle Scout project. This shelving system will greatly enhance the rescue’s ability to house and care for the reptiles awaiting adoption, furthering its mission of finding forever homes for exotic pets.
Since its founding in 2020, J&R Aquatic Animal Rescue has helped thousands of reptiles and other exotic animals find new homes. The organization serves as a crucial resource for individuals who can no longer care for their exotic pets and for those looking to responsibly adopt them. The addition of the new shelving system will improve efficiency and expand the rescue’s capacity to assist more animals.
John Moyles, founder and director of J&R Aquatic Animal Rescue, expressed his gratitude for Ben’s hard work and the community support behind the project:
“We’re incredibly grateful to Ben for choosing J&R Aquatic Animal Rescue for his Eagle Scout project. His innovative shelving design is not only practical but also tailored to the unique needs of our reptiles. This project is a great example of what young leaders can accomplish to make a difference in their communities.”
Ben Rhode’s project is a testament to the positive impact of local community initiatives and partnerships. As an Eagle Scout candidate, Ben dedicated months to planning, designing, and constructing the shelving system, which will directly benefit the rescue’s operations for years to come.
