Community members invited to give the greatest gift – the gift of life
As part of the annual Season of Giving, The Community Blood Center (CBC) is proud to host the 7th Annual Holiday Blood Drive on Thursday, December 26 from 6:30 a.m. – 3 p.m. at the scenic Poplar Hall in Appleton. With the holiday season in full swing, this event provides a meaningful opportunity to give back by donating blood – a gift that can save lives.
“The need for blood doesn’t take a holiday. While families celebrate Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year’s Day, patients still rely on life-saving transfusions,” said John Hagins, President and CEO, The Community Blood Center. “This Holiday Blood Drive provides a festive way to ensure blood is available for those in need.”
During the Holiday Blood Drive, all presenting donors will receive a long-sleeved CBC t-shirt and breakfast or lunch and all-day coffee and hot cocoa bar. Healthy and eligible blood donors are encouraged to schedule a donation. By donating blood during the holidays, donors help ensure CBC has a stable blood supply going into this more challenging time for blood collection. It’s vital that CBC can continue to meet hospital partner needs by providing patients with lifesaving blood products. This can only be done with the help of volunteer blood donors.
This is also a great time to try out blood donation for the first time—First-time donors will also receive a $25 gift card. To enhance the experience, CBC will feature a mixed reality experience to help donors relax during their donation.
