Atlas Science Center to Host “You’re Awesome. Period. Event in Collaboration with Kimberly-Clark and The Monthlies Project

Join us for an evening at Atlas Science Center Tuesday, May 21 from 5:30-7:30 PM for a one-of-a-kind event in partnership with Kimberly-Clark and The Monthlies Project. “You’re Awesome. Period.” will kick-off a month-long period product drive with all donations going to The Monthlies Project. These donations help fulfill their community initiative to provide these products to school-aged students in our community to battle period poverty and the educational inequity it creates.

Doors open at 5:30 PM and admission is “pay what you can.” Unique activities and stations hosted by Atlas and Kimberly-Clark allow kids and adults to explore the local history of period products, how these products used to be marketed and the science of what these products are made of! You’ll get to design your own new advertisement with marketing experts after seeing how different period product ads were decades ago. Learn how the most modern period products work and what scientists specifically do in the Kimberly-Clark labs to test them before they hit the shelves. And when you’re in the Atlas Paper Science Lab making your own unique paper out of cellulose, you’ll learn how the first pads were made of the exact same thing. We’ve come a long way!

Treats and refreshments will be available, along with unique items for sale in our gift shop special for this event. Bring your kids, teens, grandparents, caregivers and best friends to “You’re Awesome. Period.” for one of the neatest evenings out in Appleton!
