Appleton’s Octoberfest and License to Cruise, programs of the Fox Cities Chamber, will be held again this fall. Octoberfest will take place Saturday, Sept. 30 on College Avenue in Appleton. License to Cruise events will be held the day prior on Friday, Sept. 29.
The Octoberfest Committee is in need of almost 800 volunteers for Saturday, Sept. 30. The most critical volunteer positions include bartenders, bar managers and block captains. Volunteers must be over the age of 21 and do not need a bartending license unless managing a bar. Registration is available at octoberfestonline.org/volunteer.
There is also a critical need for food vendors at License to Cruise and Appleton’s Octoberfest. This is a great way for non-profits to raise awareness and funds for their mission. The application to participate is at octoberfestonline.org/food-vendor-information.
“Volunteers and food vendors are integral to the success of these events. We love hearing from the people and groups that look forward to coming back to help us out year after year. That excitement and support from our volunteers and vendors is going to help us continue to make Octoberfest one of our community’s favorite traditions for many years to come,” says Becky Bartoszek, President and CEO of the Fox Cities Chamber.
The mission for Appleton’s Octoberfest has remained the same since it was founded in 1981: to support local businesses and the Fox Cities’ economy, as well as raise funds for local nonprofits and reinvest in the community. In total, over the past 40 years, over 2.5 million dollars have been given to local non-profits. This community impact wouldn’t be possible without the volunteers, vendors and sponsors that come together to put on this mile-long celebration of food, fun, and philanthropy.
