Appleton Harley-Davidson has selected Bayland Buildings as the general contractor for a new, state-of-the-art 75,265-square-foot retail facility. The dealership, which originally operated in downtown Appleton (now home to the Lullaby Shop), relocated in 2000 to better serve the growing community of riders. In 2026, Appleton Harley-Davidson will celebrate its 50th anniversary, marking a milestone in its long-standing legacy.
Appleton Harley-Davidson has a rich history of ownership and dedication. The dealership changed owners in 1976, and welcomed Terry Doughty, who’d been working there since 1974, as a part-owner in 1980. In 1998, Terry bought out his partner to become the sole owner. After leading the business for over 40 years, Terry passed ownership to his son, Josh, in 2017, ensuring the family’s ongoing commitment to the Harley-Davidson brand and its loyal riders.
The new Harley-Davidson facility will feature a full retail sales floor, offices, a motorcycle maintenance service area, and storage capacity for up to 800 bikes. Additionally, there will be a public rental area available for private events. The facility will also include both outdoor and indoor lounge spaces, and Riding Academy. Construction is set to begin in the spring of 2025, with an expected completion date in the spring of 2026.
