American Airlines provides daily service
Daily, nonstop flights from Appleton International Airport (ATW) to Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport (DFW) will start June 6, 2024. This is the second nonstop route expansion launched by the Appleton Airport this year.
Airport officials say they have been working on this route expansion for almost a decade.
“This is the number one destination travelers and business leaders have asked for,” said Abe Weber, Appleton airport director. “Being able to offer nonstop flights to major hubs like Dallas/Ft. Worth only positions the Fox Cities as a progressive location for business and future economic development.”
Weber said when airlines expand routes it requires a major investment in technology, equipment, planes, and support staff, especially for daily service. With this added route, people traveling through Appleton will be linked to major markets across the country and the world
“American is thrilled to begin the only nonstop service from ATW to Texas, linking Northeastern Wisconsin to our hub at DFW where we’ll operate more than 925 peak-day flights to more than 230 destinations this summer,” said Joe Sottile, American Airlines Director of Domestic and Short-Haul International Network Planning. “When combined with now-year-round service to our CLT hub and our longstanding service to ORD, American is excited to offer convenient connectivity for ATW travelers to destinations across the U.S. and around the world on our comprehensive global network.”
“This new route connects Northeast Wisconsin to the fourth largest metropolitan area in the country,” said Thomas Nelson, Outagamie County Executive. “It’s just one more example of airlines recognizing the economic importance of our region on a global scale.”

The Appleton Airport is served by American, Delta, and United airlines and is the only Wisconsin airport served by Allegiant Airlines.
