APPLETON, WI (February 22, 2021) – The extreme cold this winter has forced many local families to choose between paying their high heating bills or purchasing food. To provide relief for these families as their budgets are tighter than ever before with the coronavirus pandemic, the Fox Cities Chapter of Credit Unions partnered with Feeding America Eastern Wisconsin and the U.S. Department of Agriculture to distribute healthy food free of charge.
“When the Fox Cities Chapter of Credit Unions heard that there was food for our communities, they jumped on board,” shared Lynn Hopfensperger, Fundraising Officer for the Greater Fox Cities Chapter of Credit Unions. “Thank you, Feeding America Eastern Wisconsin, for finding food during this time of the year in Wisconsin, and putting food on a lot of kids’ plates!”
The Fox Cities Chapter of Credit Unions is staffing the event with their volunteers and some surprise volunteers, and secured the Neuroscience Group Field at Fox Cities Stadium as a location for this event.
