Capital Credit Union Relaunches Elevate Communities

CCU program donating up to $100,000 to support local, civic organizations

Published Thursday, January 21, 2021

The Capital Credit Union’s Elevate Communities program is an initiative that supports projects brought forward by civic organizations located in Northeastern Wisconsin. The goal of this program is to fill a financial gap that may prevent a community from obtaining items or doing projects of need. For example, in 2020 the Southern Door Fire Department was able to be purchase a Jaws of Life Unit from this funding. These tools, while life-saving, are often expensive and out of reach for many departments.

Capital President and CEO Tom Young believes that it is a fantastic way to give back to local organizations, “What a better way to thank our Police, Fire and Rescue Departments, given the budget constraints they are under, than to make their jobs easier and maybe safer as well. These donations are meant to show appreciation for the tough jobs they do and to help keep our communities safe.”

In 2021, Elevate Communities will again provide up to $100,000 worth of funding to a limited number of organizations. This program hopes to enhance the quality of life in our communities, improve services offered by these organizations, and complete projects that might not be possible without this program. Civic organizations are encouraged to apply until the deadline of March 31, 2021 at capitalcu.com.
