Paperfest announces a new three day social distancing concert series. The Paperfest Rockin’ Drive-in Concerts presented by Community First Credit Union in partnership with the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers, Event Production Systems, and Woodward Radio Group are designed to give music fans the live show experience while still maintaining a safe distance.
While the 32nd annual Paperfest and the Combined Locks Centennial Celebration have been postponed until next year, July 15-18, 2021, the Paperfest Rockin’ Drive-in Concerts will be held July 23-25, 2020 at Fox Cities Stadium in Grand Chute.
“Now is the time we need some positivity so let’s drive-in to fun straight out of quarantine. Ever since Paperfest was canceled our team has worked extremely hard actively pursuing alternative options that are safe and responsible,” says Paperfest Organizer Matthew Boots. “Paperfest is all about community and we truly appreciate everyone’s continued support during these unique times, now it’s time to provide the community with safe entertainment.”
The structure of these concerts will be similar to that of a drive-in movie. Attendees can watch from within or adjacent to their vehicle, such as sitting in the bed of their truck or directly in front of their car, to enjoy a social distancing outdoor concert. Group gatherings will not be permitted.
The Paperfest Rockin’ Drive-in Concerts will feature Vic Ferrari Symphony on the Rocks on Thursday, Boogie & the Yo Yo’z on Friday, and Road Trip on Saturday. Each night the headline band will take the stage at 7:30pm. Audio will be projected over the speaker system as well as through FM radio to be listened to in each vehicle.
Gates open at 5:00pm. General admission tickets will be $30 per car and VIP tickets will be $60 per car. The maximum number of guests allowed per vehicle is equal to the number of permanent seat belts in the vehicle; any excess passengers will be charged $10 per person. Oversized vehicles are not permitted. Parking is limited and tickets can be purchased in advanced starting Thursday, July 2nd online through the Timber Rattlers website at timberrattlers.com or by calling the Timber Rattlers box office at (920) 733-4152 during normal business hours. General admission and VIP will be parked in the order of their arrival; there will not be any reserved parking. For those fans looking for the most intimate experience, a limited number of VIP tickets ensure a parking space in the first five rows.
“This is a completely new experience and we are happy bringing it to Fox Cities Stadium with the support of Community First Credit Union, the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers, Event Production Systems, Woodward Radio Group, and all of our other wonderful sponsors,” says Boots. “This event is all about community – local bands, local sponsors, and local nonprofits. We are excited to work with the Timber Rattlers and host this event at beautiful Fox Cities Stadium; it will truly be a unique experience with the health and safety of the community as our top priority.”
The Paperfest Rockin’ Drive-in Concerts are family friendly and open to all ages. Anyone showing symptoms of or have had recent exposure to Covid-19 are asked to remain home. No carry-ins allowed.
