On Saturday, February 17, the Building for Kids Children’s Museum (BFKCM) will host a Family Valentine’s Celebration, an opportunity for the whole family to participate in the holiday.
“Traditionally, Valentine’s Day celebrates romantic love and the spin-off, Galentine’s Day, highlights the love between friends, but what’s missing is a day to celebrate the love within a family,” said Oliver Zornow, President of the BFKCM. “By joining us for a Family Valentine’s Celebration, families can enjoy fun, themed activities, play together around the museum, and create lasting memories of the holiday.”
One way the BFKCM will celebrate is with a family card exchange. Their art studio will be divided in half, one for adults and one for kids. Each half will make Valentine’s cards for the other and then present their cards to each other in a special sharing spot in the middle of the studio.
Additionally, the BFKCM will host other Valentine-themed activities throughout the day, including heart-healthy snacks and a collaborative mural where visitors can share their love for their community. The event will take place from 9am – 4pm.
