Aurora BayCare Medical Center Supports Breast Cancer Awareness as a Presenting Sponsor of the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk

Highlighting the Power of Early Detection, Comprehensive Care, and Community Support

As part of its mission to provide exceptional patient care and raise awareness about the importance of early breast cancer detection, Aurora BayCare Medical Center is proud to serve as the presenting sponsor of the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer of Northeast Wisconsin event. This community walk will be held on Saturday, October 5 at Aurora BayCare Medical Center, located at2845 Greenbrier Rd, Green Bay, WI.

Aurora BayCare’s participation in the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk underscores its dedication to providing comprehensive breast cancer care. The center offers advanced diagnostic and treatment, along with personalized, multidisciplinary care for patients at every stage of their journey – from early detection to recovery. The event will feature Dr. Natalie Luehmann, Aurora BayCare breast surgeon, who will share the critical role compressive care and early detection play in improving patient outcomes.

“Aurora BayCare is committed to not only treating breast cancer but also ensuring our patients receive holistic, compassionate care throughout their journey,” said Dr. Luehmann. “Participating in this event allows us to amplify the importance of annual screenings and share how our comprehensive, multidisciplinary approach is making a real difference in patients’ lives.”

Stephanie Skrede, a breast cancer survivor treated by Aurora BayCare, will also speak at the event. She’ll share her experience with the High-Risk Breast Clinic and how early detection, paired with Aurora BayCare’s comprehensive care, saved her life.

“With my mom’s history of breast cancer, joining the high-risk program and getting early detection truly saved my life,” said Skrede. “The Aurora BayCare team has been incredible, supporting me and my family every step of the way. As a mother of three daughters, it’s been my mission to raise awareness and encourage others to get screened, ask questions, and speak up – because it can genuinely save lives.”

A Community Event with a Larger Purpose

While the walk is an important fundraiser for breast cancer research, Aurora BayCare’s participation highlights its broader commitment to educating the community on breast health and empowering individuals to take proactive steps. We invite everyone to join us in making strides toward a future without breast cancer. Sign up for the event by using this link.

The event, which begins with registration at 8:00 a.m. and the walk starting at 10:00 a.m., will include a variety of family-friendly activities such as yard games and a photo booth, in addition to the 1.5- and 3-mile walk routes. All community members are encouraged to participate and support those impacted by breast cancer.
