Matthews Tire is hosting their 15th Oil Change for the Better event October 21-26, 2019. For every regular-priced oil change performed throughout the week at all six locations (in Appleton–East and West, Menasha, Waupaca, Fond du Lac and Green Bay), Matthews Tire will donate $10 to the Breast Cancer Family Foundation, a local non-profit organization dedicated to educating the youth in our communities about cancer.
“By making healthy choices early on in life, we can influence our long-term health and lower our overall cancer risk. When our health is defined by the opportunities available to us, having knowledge around cancer prevention early on in life is a proactive approach that ensures these behaviors become lifelong habits for our community and future generations,” Executive Director Diane Gaywont shared.
Money raised through Oil Change for the Better will help fund the Breast Cancer Family Foundation’s middle school and high school programs, answering the tough questions kids may have about cancer and providing a healthy dialogue for them, along with offering children great suggestions for things they can do to prevent cancer. “Most people know someone that is or was affected by breast cancer. The Breast Cancer Family Foundation is a great way to reach the kids in those families—and in all families—and offer them a trusted and knowledgeable resource for asking their questions and feeling in control,” said Matthews Tire President Trevor Rezner. “We’re proud to support this local organization and help bring awareness to their cause.”
Oil Change for the Better is a semi-annual, weeklong charity event held by Matthews Tire. This October will be the fifteenth Oil Change for the Better event.
