The third annual Pulling for Honor event hosted by Appleton International Airport will take place Saturday, August 10, 2019 from 10am – 2pm at the airport’s Platinum Flight Center. The event happens on an airport tarmac just 300 yards from an operating runway.

The event is a plane pull fundraiser aimed to raise $85,000 for Old Glory Honor Flight. If the goal is met, the event will have raised nearly a quarter of a million dollars in donations for the organization in the last three years.

Thirty-six teams of up to 20 members each from around the Fox Valley are signed up for the plane pull competition to see who can pull a 200,000lb FedEx A300 aircraft twelve feet the fastest.

The community is invited on August 10th to come cheer on teams at the competition and enjoy all of the other fun Pulling for Honor has to offer.

New this year, the event will include chances for attendees to win free Allegiantairfare, kids activities including a miniature kiddie plane pull and bounce house, a beer tent, food trucks, Culver’s custard, and a special Old Glory Honor Flight Veteran reunion ceremony.

“Pulling for Honor is an exciting combination of competition, family fun, and the opportunity to help say ‘thank you’ and give back to the veterans who have given so much for us” said Airport Director, Abe Weber. “This event really puts the ‘fun’ in fundraiser – and has something for everyone. We hope to see everyone there on Saturday!”
