The media is invited to the Building for Kids Children’s Parade, presented by ThedaCare, on Wednesday, July 24. Children’s Parade celebrates creativity, imagination and childhood by inviting kids and adults to parade in costume, ride decorated bikes or other non-motorized transportation down College Avenue.
The parade line-up begins at 5:15 p.m. in Houdini Plaza. The parade starts at 6 p.m. in front of the Building for Kids Children’s Museum (BFKCM) with participants marching east on College Avenue, turning left on Drew Street and ending in City Park. Awards will be awarded for individual and group floats for creativity, confidence, imagination and spirit.
After the parade, there will be music with 95.9 KISS FM and a Fox Valley Food Truck Rally in City Park. Plus, family activities including stories and crafts with the Appleton Public Library and Childcare Resource & Referral, hands-on activities with the BFKCM and games with Appleton Parks & Recreation.
Children’s Parade is part of U.S. Venture Children’s Week, an annual community-wide celebration of kids. U.S. Venture Children’s Week provides seven fun-filled days for children and their families to make lasting memories while engaging in free or reduced-cost recreational activities throughout the City of Appleton.
