Octoberfest’s License to Cruise to Feature GM Cars

The event is looking for specialty GM cars to display in the Fox Cities Performing Arts Center

License to Cruise, a part of the Fox Cities Chamber’s annual Octoberfest, is proud to announce GM as the feature vehicle for this year’s event on Friday, Sept. 27, from 6-9:30 p.m. The annual displays more than 400 classic cars and brings in over 100,000 people to College Avenue.

The event is now seeking rare-edition or very-low-production GM cars to showcase inside the Fox Cities Performing Arts Center. Cars will be displayed onstage and throughout the lobby of the Fox Cities P.A.C. The indoor collection is free to attend and open during License to Cruise. Other GM feature vehicles will be in front of City Center Plaza. Contact Gary Rohde, showcase coordinator, at Gary.Rohde@yahoo.com for more information on displaying a vehicle.

“GM was chosen because of its iconic history in the automotive manufacturing field,” said Dan Hoeck, License to Cruise event coordinator. “From its founding in 1908, it has remained as the largest American manufacturer of automobiles and one of the world's largest manufacturers.”

All other classic vehicles manufactured in 1985 or before with no visible primer or rust are welcome to join the cruise. Cars may enter College Avenue from 4:30-6 p.m. the day of the show, and a $5 fee per vehicle will be collected. Classic car owners can find more information at octoberfestonline.org.

License to Cruise is a pet-free, family-friendly and alcohol-free event to enjoy food from local restaurants and live music. The Doo Wop Daddies kicks off at 6 p.m. in Houdini Plaza with more artists performing throughout College Avenue.
