Appleton International Airport will host TSA Precheck enrollment Jan. 21-25, 2019.
TSA Precheck is an expedited screening program that enables enrolled travelers to go through an expedited security screening process when traveling. TSA Precheck-eligible travelers do not need to remove shoes, 3-1-1- liquids, laptops, light outerwear or belts when being screened in the TSA Precheck lane.
"This is the perfect time to obtain TSA Precheck before the busy spring break travel season begins," said Abe Weber, airport director. "TSA Precheck improves the airport customer experience not only at ATW, but all over the U.S."
TSA Precheck-eligible travelers can use the Precheck lane at 200 airports with 56 airlines nationwide.
Travelers are encouraged to pre-enroll online and sign up for a 10-minute appointment at TSA.gov. The enrollment process must be completed in person. Applicants must bring a current U.S. passport or a driver's license and certified copy of a birth certificate to the appointment. Fingerprints will be collected during the in-person session.
The application fee is $85 and Trusted Traveler status is good for five years. The fee can be paid at the enrollment appointment by credit card, money order, company check or certified/cashier's check. Cash and personal checks are not accepted. Walk-ins are permitted and will be accommodated around scheduled appointments.
Free parking will be available in the short-term lot for those enrolling in TSA Precheck. Applicants do not need to be a ticketed passenger to participate in the program. The screening will take place before security in the airport conference room located next to baggage claim.
