Octoberfest, an event of the Fox Cities Chamber, is hosting free Family Fun Yoga in partnership with Empower Yoga and Lawrence University on Saturday, Sept. 29 from 9:15-10:15 a.m. on Lawrence University’s Main Hall lawn at 501 E. College Ave. The session is open to all skill levels, and participants are encouraged to bring their own mats.
“While Octoberfest may be rooted in tradition, over 30 years in the making, we continuously seek to diversify the festival’s events, especially with new family-friendly activities,” said Eric Stadler, Octoberfest event committee and entertainment chairman. “Family Fun Yoga will be a great way to help everyone get a jump start to the day’s festivities.”
At Octoberfest festivalgoers can walk around the arts and crafts area, support nonprofit organizations by purchasing food and enjoy live music. The Family Fun Area will include entertainers like magicians, jugglers and a cirq-attitude class where kids will learn life skills through circus arts.
More than $2.5 million has been reinvested into the community as a result of Octoberfest since its start in 1981. Because of the event’s success, Octoberfest is able to support local nonprofit organizations and community projects through community grants and contribute over $50,000 each year.
The 37th annual Octoberfest will be held Sept. 28-29 in downtown Appleton. For more information on the event, including a complete list of activities, visit octoberfestonline.org.
