The inaugural Gold Ribbon Gala, presented by McClone, will take place Wednesday, March 7, 2018 at the Bridgewood Resort’s Ballroom in Neenah. The event’s program includes cocktails, dinner and a live auction, with all event proceeds benefiting Children’s Cancer Family Foundation (CCFF). Through fun-filled events to lift spirits and financial assistance to lighten cancer’s economic burdens, CCFF assists local families battling pediatric cancer.
CCFF’s 2018 “Big Heart Award” winners will also be recognized at the Gold Ribbon Gala, receiving one-time $1,000 grants for their demonstrated commitment to helping children with cancer. The three student award winners were selected based on essays they’ve submitted sharing the story of why they have a passion to help children with cancer as well as the activities, programs or initiatives they have been involved in that support pediatric cancer patients and/or survivors. Award winners are encouraged to use the award money to continue their mission of helping children with cancer.
“Kids today are doing so much good to make a positive impact in their communities,” said Sarah-Beth Janssen, president and co-founder of CCFF. “We’ve heard countless stories of kids helping other kids battling pediatric cancer. This is our chance to honor them and support the great work they are doing!”
Newly-retired Green Bay Packer James Jones and ESPN reporter Olivia Harlan will be co-hosting the event, with an evening highlight being the Live Auction featuring unique experiences, such as 3rd Base Coach at the Jordy Nelson Softball Game, a Green Bay Packers Sportscaster's Booth Game Day Experience with Kevin Harlan, and one hour of court time for 10 kids with NBA and UW Badger Basketball star Sam Dekker. Registration opens at 5:00 p.m., and the event's program begins at 6:00 p.m.
CCFF's Gold Ribbon Gala is open to the media. James Jones and Olivia Harlan will be available for interviews at the conclusion of the event (around 7:30 p.m.).
