Unison Credit Union, a full-service financial institution serving Northeast Wisconsin, is excited to announce that the 2018 John Aman Memorial Scholarship application period is open. Unison will award five $2,000 scholarships to students that take an active role as stewards of their communities through volunteerism efforts.
“As a credit union, Unison is dedicated to the mantra of ‘people helping people’ and strives to support community members and their causes,” said Mark Hietpas, Unison Credit Union president and CEO. “The John Aman Memorial Scholarship serves as an annual reminder of the importance of volunteerism and gives us the opportunity to recognize local students who are dedicated to community service and embody that mission.”
The scholarship is given each year in honor of John Aman, Unison Credit Union’s first CEO, who was hired in 1970. Aman was passionately committed to both the credit union industry and his community, and was known for his volunteerism and service efforts.
New this year, applicants can submit completed applications online, in addition to mail, email and in-person delivery options. Applications are available at unisoncu.org/about-us/john-aman-memorial-scholarship and at local branch offices. Unison will also accept multimedia submissions, such as a video or a slideshow, in lieu of a written essay. High school seniors must be a Unison member, or have a parent/guardian who is a member, to apply, and submit all materials no later than noon on Saturday, March 17, 2018.
