Local Restaurant Supports Police Lights of Christmas Program This Holiday Season

Cousins Subs® is excited to participate in the Police Lights of Christmas outreach program for a second consecutive year.

Founded in 2016, the Police Lights of Christmas outreach program is a community effort that helps police departments in northeast Wisconsin reach those in need during the holiday season. Throughout the month of December, local Appleton and Green Bay police department squad cars are stocked with gift cards and homeless blessing bags that officers can hand out at their discretion while on patrol. Cousins Subs and surrounding organizations joined efforts with the community by providing gift cards to officers as a way to combat food insecurity during the winter months.

“By teaming up with the Fox Valley area police departments, we can reach and impact more of those who need our help this holiday season,” said Matthew Knoke, marketing specialist at Cousins Subs. “We are committed to make it better for our local communities not only during the holiday season, but every day.”

“Many people [rightfully] help support the local warming shelters this time of year, however this campaign seeks to help those who ‘fall through the cracks’ during the winter months; those who we run into that aren’t in a shelter, but need a little extra help or encouragement,” said Chief Todd Thomas of the Appleton police department.

From now until December 5th, cash and gift card donations are accepted at any Community First Credit Union location to support the Lights of Christmas outreach program.
