The Trout Museum of Art will host an evening with master origami artist Robert J. Lang, as a part of the museum’s current exhibit of Lang’s nature-inspired origami. The event will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 25 at 6:30 p.m., and is open to the public. Cost will be $5 for members and $10 for nonmembers.
In August, Lang’s exhibit ORIcursion: Original Origami opened at the Trout Museum of Art and features a number of new techniques in origami that he created through a combination of science and math.
Lang has been practicing the art of origami for more than 50 years and his art explores the themes of recursion and self-referentiality through folded paper and other materials.
Throughout the evening, those who attend will have the opportunity to:
- Hear Lang share the stories that inspired his ORIcursion exhibit
- Ask questions about the creation of his origami masterpieces
- Speak with Lang one-on-one during the reception
