Assembly Majority Leader Jim Steineke (R-Kaukauna) released the following statement following the Joint Finance Committee’s approval of the education budget, which will bring the largest investment in K-12 education in Wisconsin’s history:
“One of the best things we can do for the future of our state is ensure our students have access to effective, exceptional education. Our education plan will bring the largest investment in K-12 education Wisconsin has seen, with classrooms seeing more than $600 million in additional funding, while property taxes will be lower than they were in 2010. We are delivering results that are important to Wisconsin families while being responsible with your dollars.
By putting more money in the classroom, empowering families to choose the right options for their children, and focusing on retaining and rewarding great teachers, Wisconsin Republicans are showing that we are committed to our students, families, and future.“
