The Fox Cities Chamber’s monthly educational program, Business Breakfast Bytes, will provide onboarding education to attendees at the February morning session.
The upcoming February Business Breakfast Byte session, “Hang on to your New Hires,” will feature a panel of human resources and business experts that will provide information regarding the critical components of onboarding best practices to increase employee satisfaction, improve job performance and reduce turnover.
Steven Baue, President and Owner of ERC: Counselors and Consultants, will facilitate the session and lead the panel of experts, including: Julie Vanvonderen, VP of Human Resources, Prospera Credit Union, Jim Dobinski, Managing Director, Stellar Blue Technologies and Julie Kloiber, Sr. Talent Acquisition Manager, J. J. Keller & Associates, Inc.
Onboarding and ongoing support are key drivers of a new employee’s engagement, retention, contribution and success. Attendees will receive information at this session that will help them understand the critical steps needed to bring new employees on board to stay.
“Companies spend a tremendous amount of time and money in finding the best candidate but often underestimate the importance of starting that new employee off right. Those who overlook onboarding, or treat it as a one day event, can see turnover as high as 50% in the first 18 months of employment. It’s those first few days and weeks of a new employee that build the foundation for success, productivity and engagement. The good news is onboarding doesn’t need to be complex, it just needs to be done,” shared session facilitator Steven Baue in regards to the need for an effective onboarding process.
