Saving Paws Animal Rescue Inc. recently accepted a $2,745 donation from Matthews Tire President Trevor Rezner. The money was raised during the Matthews Tire semi-annual Oil Change for the Better event held September 19-24, 2016. Matthews Tire tallied all regular priced oil changes performed throughout the week and pledged to donate $5 from each oil change to Saving Paws.

Saving Paws is a local non-profit animal rescue that primarily cares for rescued, abandoned or surrendered cats and dogs, as well as trains service dogs to assist children, adults and veterans with disabilities. They also seek to decrease the number of unwanted animals and animal cruelty in the community through outreach and education.

“Because of the support from local businesses like Matthews Tire, we’re able to care for animals in our community,” said Saving Paws Co-Director Glenda Stadler. “We are very thankful for this donation; it will really go a long way.”

This was the ninth Oil Change for the Better event held at all six Matthews Tire locations. In the last five years, Matthews Tire has raised over $22,500 for various local non-profits including Old Glory Honor Flight, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northeastern Wisconsin, Golden House, Fox Valley Humane Society, Make-A-Wish Foundation and The Salvation Army.
