Atlantic Records artist LOLO, arguably the most buzzworthy performer at Mile 4 in August, will be returning to Appleton sooner rather than later as she has signed on to headline Mile of Music’s New Year’s Encore Eve at the Radisson Paper Valley Hotel in downtown Appleton.
It will be the fourth New Year’s Eve concert celebration produced by Mile of Music and will again feature four of the most popular bands from the previous Mile of Music festival performing back-to-back sets in the hotel’s Grand Ballroom, beginning at 8 p.m. and ending shortly after midnight.
Tickets are available online at mileofmusic.com, by calling 920-750-5020 or at the hotel front desk; ticket packages available through the hotel front desk, by calling 920-733-8000 or visiting http://www.radisson.com/Mileofmusic. Ticket packages include tickets for two and a guest room or two tickets, a guest room and dinner.
Tickets are $35 for the general public or $25 for Music-Makers subscribers, plus sales tax and online fee.
LOLO didn’t disappoint at her much-anticipated appearance at Mile 4. She performed several times during the festival, perhaps most memorably with an inspiring four-song taste of what was to come at the First Songs Kickoff Showcase at the Lawrence Memorial Chapel on Wednesday, August 3. She followed with rousing sets at the Grand Ballroom on Thursday night (a show moved inside from Houdini Plaza due to rain) and at a jam-packed patio at D2 Sports Pub on Friday evening. She also performed as part of the festival’s popular tribute jam.
As she prepared to leave Appleton and Mile 4 back in August, LOLO posted a pair of emotional videos sharing her appreciation and love for Appleton and its music fans – and vowing to come back soon.
“She’s making good on her promise and we couldn’t be more thrilled,” said Kurt Kempen, Mile of Music lead talent coordinator. “She brings such an infectious combination of energy, grit, poise and talent to the stage that everyone is mesmerized by her.”
The Jackson, Tennessee-born singer-songwriter released her first full-length album on a major label – Atlantic Records – shortly after Mile of Music. The Associated Press called LOLO a show-stopping singer who has “so much music flowing through (her) that it fills two people.” She has proven herself a venerable songwriter, having penned hits for Panic! At The Disco’s recent #1 blockbuster album and writing a New York Times-raved about off-Broadway musical, “Songbird.”
The remaining three artists for the New Year’s Encore Eve lineup will be finalized and announced very soon, according to Kempen. More information on the New Year’s Eve event is available at mileofmusic.com. More information on LOLO is available at lolomusic.com.
The event is produced and presented by Mile of Music Productions and sponsored by the Radisson Paper Valley Hotel, Tundraland Home Improvements, Trilliant Food, Beverage & Nutrition, The Post-Crescent and Woodward Radio.
