A $5,000 donation to Clarity Care’s Chance Program from the Hartwig Family Foundation will provide dozens of disabled adults with opportunities to enjoy a variety of events and activities such as theater and concerts, local and professional sports, visits to area attractions and much more. The donation will subsidize the cost of the activities, allowing participants to enjoy enriching events and fun-filled activities, while building important life skills and become full participants in community life. Chance is a program developed by Clarity Care and dedicated to providing endless opportunities to enjoy enriching events, activities, and build life skills for adults with disabilities.
Participation in Chance events has continued to grow since the inception of Chance in 2011. The program now facilitates two or more adventures each month, as well as a sleep-over summer camping experience. The program is open to adults with disabilities who reside in our community. Event attendees are chaperoned by Clarity Care staff and volunteers. In many cases, transportation to and from events is provided.
The success of the Chance program is in large part due to grants such as this one from the Hartwig Family Foundation, from those who understand that community inclusion means that all members of our community have the opportunity to participate in all that our communities have to offer.
