Fox Cities First Night Market, Bazaar After Dark, to Debut September 28th on Wisconsin Avenue

Published Monday, September 19, 2016

Live music, art vendors, food trucks, family activities and a few other quirky surprises are sure to create excitement as the Fox Cities first night market, Bazaar After Dark, debuts on Wednesday, September 28, 2016. Pulse Young Professionals Network, a program of the Fox Cities Chamber, along with presenting sponsor, Tundraland, and the support of the City of Appleton, will host this unique event which will bring attention to the small businesses and pop-up vendors who will be participating at the event on Wisconsin Avenue in Appleton.

Bazaar After Dark will celebrate the variety and diversity of people, art and food in the Fox Cities while also expanding on the momentum of the Artery, Pulse’s urban market which promotes local artists to showcase their work and drive the local creative economy forward. These events strive to become an example of inclusion and community unity in the Fox Cities.

“In my view, Wisconsin Avenue has been struggling with misperceptions more than anything. The result has been several vacant storefronts positioned between many unique and otherwise viable businesses. Milwaukee faced a similar issue in their city center and I saw NEWaukee (a social architecture firm) address it with a very fun and successful night market. It seemed logical that a similar approach could work on Wisconsin Avenue in Appleton. Some people might think it’s naive to try and address deep social and economic issues with what amounts to a street party, but I believe that changing the narrative of a place can begin with a few good ideas and a handful of committed citizens, partnerships and businesses,” shares Adrienne Palm, Director of Pulse Young Professionals Network.

Bazaar After Dark, an open air night market, will debut on Wednesday, September 28th on Wisconsin Avenue between Oneida and Drew Streets from 6:00 pm – 10:00 pm. The event is free to the community and expected to attract 1000+ Fox Cities community members.
