Woodward Radio Group to Host Blood Drive at Bergstrom of Appleton

The Community Blood Center (CBC), in partnership with Woodward Radio Group, will host a blood drive at Bergstrom Automotive Used Car Super Center at 2925 Victory Lane on June 24th from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The all-day event will feature live on-site broadcasts with DJs from 95.3 FM The Score, WAPL 105.7, WHBY 1150 AM, 95.9 KISS-FM, WKZG-FM 104.3 and WZOR 94.7 RAZOR. 

“On behalf of employee-owned Woodward Radio Group, we are pleased to promote this important community event,” said General Manger Kelly Radandt. “We’re happy to support a vital community resource such as The Community Blood Center.”

The blood drive will provide Fox Cities residents with a unique opportunity to ensure an ample blood supply before the Fourth of July holiday, plus earn a variety of great prizes. All presenting donors will be eligible to enter a drawing for two tickets to Weird Al Yankovic’s August 20th show at the Fox Cities Performing Arts Center supplied by Woodward Radio Group. In addition, all presenting donors will be eligible to enter CBC’s “Summer Splash” drawing with the chance to win one of two Wisconsin Dells getaways including a two-night stay at Kalahari Resort, food and entertainment. 

“We are excited to partner with Woodward Radio Group and Bergstrom Automotive for this event,” said The Community Blood Center Vice President of Donor Services Kris Belanger. “Their outstanding media presence and longstanding commitment to the community provides us with a great opportunity to deliver our mission to the masses, and entice new donors to get involved.”

Donors must meet specific eligibility criteria outlined by the FDA, accrediting organizations (such as AABB) and individual donation centers. To donate in Wisconsin, individuals must be at least 16 years old, in general good health and must meet weight and hemoglobin level requirements on donation day. Donors are encouraged to eat a regular meal and drink plenty of water prior to donation, and present a photo ID upon donation.
