The Appleton Housing Authority (AHA) has promoted Bonnie Osmak to a full-time Intake Specialist position in recognition of her exemplary service.
In her new role, Osmak is responsible for multiple office activities, including greeting and assisting individuals with housing needs and questions; maintaining the AHA’s Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher Program and Public Housing applicant lists; answering phone inquiries and sharing community resource information; as well as processing a variety of daily administative tasks and requests.
Osmak first joined the AHA in February 2015, as a student intern for the organization’s First-time Homebuyer Program. She was hired on a part-time basis as an Intake Assistant in April 2015, working in that role until her recent promotion.
A graduate of Fox Valley Technical College, Osmak earned her Administrative Professional Associate Degree in May 2015, and also brings several years of customer service experience to the position.
The AHA is the largest provider of affordable housing options in the Appleton area, serving over 900 families per month. The agency has operated rental housing, homeownership and family self-sufficiency programs along with other key housing-related programs in the Appleton community for over 49 years.
The AHA’s non-profit NHI organization is committed to affordable housing and the self-sufficiency of families, veterans, elderly and disabled individuals in the Fox Cities. NHI’s successful partnership with the Appleton Area School District (AASD), annually brings students from Appleton East, North and West High Schools together to build a new, affordable home or duplex for area families in need of an affordable residence.
